I’m ready for round two tonight with Kim.
I believe I will spend all day Monday sleeping off my weekend, which began Thursday with Girl Talk. The kicker: I worked until 9 last night before heading to Hamtramck and I started work this morning at 10 a.m. after getting home after 2:30 a.m. I also have to work tomorrow, and before work? Spinning class and book club. But first? More Blowout tonight. I’m a rock star.

new track from their upcoming album blood pressures.
[cannot effing wait]
The Kills are playing in Detroit soon. Considering going. I saw them once in 2004ish. So good. By the way, Alison Mosshart is amazing in the Dead Weather, too.
I didn’t realize this sold out last week the day after going on sale! Crazy. Friends, I hope some of you are still planning on getting day passes and I’m not the only one who got the three-day before it sold out.
First Aid Kit are giving me goosebumps. “Ghost Town” was one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite discoveries of 2010 and hearing the live session version gave me chills all over. Their debut album, The Big Black And The Blue, turned all sorts of heads in the States and overseas. While I like to think I was ahead of the curve in my initial discovery, over 1 million people (now over 2 million) had already laid eyes on them with a cover of Fleet Foxes’ “Tiger Mountain Peasant Song” on YouTube

WILCO - KAMERA (by wilcoclubvideos)
Wilco reminds me of summer so I’ve been listening to A LOT of Wilco this past week. Almost exclusively.
Sounds extremely overwhelming and maddening, but I can’t help but want to be there, especially after seeing nonstop SXSW updates in my Facebook feed and many of the blogs I read.
“Jamie Gumbrecht, a fellow CNN.com producer, and I set out on a little adventure of our own, with one goal: Find the hip band and after-hours shows of Wednesday night at SXSW.
We used Foursquare and an app called Blacktop to track and map our locations. And we tried to investigate as many methods of finding the Next Big Thing as possible, from trending topics on Twitter to before-hand research and, of course, talking up random people on the streets of Austin. By the end of it, we learned that SXSW is best taken in stride – it’s a place where trying to do everything can keep you from doing anything.”
Music For Your Monday: NPR Music is streaming Peter Bjorn and John’s Gimme Some in its entirety. Enjoy!
It’s deceptively sunny today. I think this is fitting. I love this video, and song. It reminds me of summer 2006.
