My friend Shannon is getting married soon and asked her guests to dress Mad Men-esque if they so desire. Well, she has been fielding quite a few questions from family and friends asking what this entails, so she created a helpful style guide, which I find hilarious.
“We’ve had more than a few people ask us what we mean when our invitation says, “Bonus points for any mid-century modern outfits!””

“”OMG we are so perplexed that you don’t know how to dress as awesome as we do.” ~Peggy and Joan”
Fans accustomed to spending their summer Sundays with Don Draper may have to wait a while longer. It looks increasingly likely that the fifth season of “Mad Men,” the three-time Emmy Award-winning AMC series, will not have its debut until later in 2011 or possibly 2012.

Ugh. First, not until 2012, now this…
“Weiner talked to the NY Times today to confirm that AMC had asked him to slim down the cast and shrink each episode by a couple of minutes. He said these cuts would make Mad Men a “different show….I don’t understand why, with all of the success of the show, they suddenly need to change it…. All I want to do is continue to make my show, and make it in the way I want to, with the people I want to make it with.””

Check out the rest of this collection of just-released Mad Men Season 4 illustrations by Dyna Moe. She created them for an internal project last fall and never shared them.
I want it all. Early birthday present to myself?

(p.s. I’m officially back from hiatus.)
The girl is 11, and she talks like this? Yes, I know she’s on “Mad Men” and everyone on that show seems to be very into fashion, but seriously? And there are seven more looks with descriptions just like this one!
“This Papo dʼ Anjo shift dress is one of my go-to pieces. I find the pattern fun, but not too chaotic. I always carry around the Stella McCartney bag Iʼm holding. And the boots are Cole Haan.”

Using recipes from this book for a 1950s-themed dinner party tonight! Despite appearing to be a novelty book, the recipes are legit and there are lots of them! The majority of recipes are from the late 1950s, culled from popular cookbooks and restaurants. There’s even Pat Nixon’s date bread recipe, which she apparently shared with a newspaper.
Here it is guys! This week’s cover: the Mad Men issue. 1960’s field trip! Look ahead to a fun week on our tumblr.
