Damn right I hide these people. (And I’m not sorry if you’re one of them.)
My new favorite salad dressing.
I’ve been pretty hardcore about cutting out anything containing high fructose corn syrup, but I ran into a stumbling block when it came to salad dressing. Seriously, every single fucking low-fat, sweet (raspberry or sundried tomato vinagrette) dressing contained high fructose corn syrup.
Then I found Maple Grove Farms’ Sugar-Free Raspberry Vinaigrette. Delicious, only 5 calories and...

An 18-Year-Old Looks Back On Life →
This was written in 1972, but it’s interesting to see the similarities and realize this could very well apply to today with a few substitutions.
“My generation is special because of what we missed rather than what we got, because in a certain sense we are the first and the last. The first to take technology for granted. (What was a space shot to us, except an hour cut from Social...

This is a fascinating no-holds-barred interview on the original “Beverly Hills 90210” (I’m a big fan so it may not be as fascinating to most.)

2010 goal: Get back into music
Yeah, I haven’t lapsed completely into ignorance when it comes to new stuff, what’s getting buzz and the latest indie hits, but I haven’t been as “obsessed,” I guess is the right word, with discovering new stuff on my own. I’m heading back to my roots in 2010. Reading music blogs, listening to new tracks, going to shows is all back on my radar this year.

Man calls cops on wife baking cookies
Brighton Township – Troopers from the Michigan State Police Brighton post nearly nabbed a suspected burglar in the act of making cookies about 7 a.m. this morning.
A caller from the 8400 block of Hyne Road called 911 reporting noises in the lower level of his home. He and his wife were upstairs in bed, he told police.
Troopers Karla Aguzzi and Greg Galarneau quickly responded and approached the...

I am so burnt out after editing Haiti stories. Seriously, for the past few days, everything Haiti has been my responsibility at work. But even amid all the horror and loss, I have to admit it’s uplifting to read about all the relief efforts, uplifting feeling tinged with sadness, of course.

cold souls
melissaanderson:
This weekend I am going to see Cold Souls at the Burton Theatre. The theatre is new to Detroit and happens to be just a few blocks away from where I live in Midtown. This will be my first trip there but I am super excited. Detroit needs all the new business it can get and I am happy to support.
One of my favorite things about the theatre already is that their concessions...
